Wyless is the leading global M2M managed services provider. The resilient platform, delivered in partnership with the world’s largest network operators, provides secure, reliable communications with wireless devices worldwide. Powerful management tools offer real-time reporting and control over all devices connected to our network. Wyless delivers a comprehensive suite of end-to-end managed services with unrivalled expertise, professional support and competitive pricing. Wyless enables ou customers and partners to deploy M2M applications and services faster, cheaper and more effectively.
Q: How do you expect your company to benefit from registration with the M2M partner portal?
A: Our long and excellent strategic relationships with Deutsche Telekom and T-Mobile in both the USA and Europe have helped our company grow into a leading provider of end-to-end M2M solutions, and our recent inclusion in the M2M Partner Portal will continue to drive our joint business with DT and its subsidiaries on both sides of the pond. Our goal is to deliver ‘enhanced connectivity solutions,’ which means project management, bundled services and value added solutions to our joint customers. Further, as we operate in both the US and Europe, we expect to drive lots of cross-boarder business, helping our European partners access the US market and vice versa.
Q: Could you tell us something about your Porthos M2M Management Platform?
A: At Wyless we are experts at managing secure connectivity to mobile networks for mission critical applications. We do that by amalgamating our Mobile Network Operator partners onto our own Managed Network, driven to our partners via our Porthos Management Platform. This is more than just delivering your standard SIM and connectivity management features like activations, usage reporting and alarming, but extends to a broad range of value added features like location based services, network management, trouble ticketing, supply chain management, and even partner-to-partner billing. We recently won a Frost and Sullivan innovation award for Porthos and nearly half of our company is involved one way or the other in the continued development of our platform.
Q: How has 2012 been for Wyless?
A: 2012 has been an explosive year for us. The Wyless strategy of providing end-to-end solutions was strengthened earlier this year with the acquisition of ClearConnex and the launching of WylessConnect.
Clearconnex is an innovative engineering and design firm that helps our customers improve their go-to-market. The range of engineering services include board level design, embedded software, project management and certification services. ClearConnex also has a licensable device management software platform, ClearComm, that speeds embedded software development by offering off-the-shelf APIs to most of the common requirements in any M2M application.
Wyless Connect is our first vertical solution. We saw an opportunity to provide a full end-to-end bundled solution for business continuity services using broadband cellular for Internet failover, as well as Digital Signage, Interactive Kiosks and ATMs. In the broadband fixed wireless business, coverage is key. The only thing more important is security. Wyless Connect provides both.
Q: And what does the future hold as you look to 2013?
A: We will continue to bundle both equipment, services and applications through our channel partners into certain verticals as a horizontal managed services provider where we see the need for a compressed value chain, as we see this as a growing trend in the marketplace.
We have also partnered with NEC, which will be promoting both Porthos and Wyless Managed Services to their partners and customers worldwide. The NEC converged solution of Porthos and their M2M CONNEXIVE solutions will enable mobile network operators and enterprises to maximize user experience while minimizing their operating costs and optimizing their revenue from rapidly increasing M2M connectivity services.
We were then honored at the Connected World Value Chain Awards to receive two Gold Awards with the City of Denver/IPS Group for parking meters and TZ Medical for home health monitoring. The awards recognize the complex process involved in launching and managing M2M solutions and highlight the key partners involved in the design and development of the winning solution.
Wyless provides the M2M wireless data connectivity and private managed network solutions for both of these deployments on the T-Mobile US Network and are perfect examples of our ability to deliver a managed M2M service through successful collaboration with our ecosystem partners.
As a result of these and other initiatives, our 2013 looks to be our best year yet. We are rapidly approaching a million connected devices on our network and we truly believe that we’ve entered a new era in our business as a solutions provider, driving the partnerships, solutions and services required to solve the complexities of delivering M2M applications on a global basis.
